Blue Bay is a self-contained beach community on the south coast, ten minutes west of Willemstad. A single gated road leads down to one of the calmest swimming bays on the island and the only full 18-hole golf course in Curaçao.
It's quieter than Jan Thiel, calmer than Mambo, and a long way from the late nights of Pietermaai. The rhythm is slow on purpose — people come here to swim before breakfast, play nine holes before lunch, and not move much for the rest of the day.
It's the area we send families with young children, golfers travelling with non-golfers, and couples who want a longer stay without the noise.

The atmosphere
A day in Blue Bay.
Morning
The bay is glass before eight. Early swimmers along the rope line, the first tee-times rolling out at Blue Bay Golf, and the beach club setting up loungers in long quiet rows.
Afternoon
Families take over the shallows. Kids on paddleboards, parents under the sea-grape trees, the beach restaurant filling up slowly through lunch. Nothing rushes.
Sunset
The cliff above the bay turns gold. A short walk up gets you the best free sunset on the south coast. Dinner reservations begin to fill at Nemà and along the golf clubhouse.
Evening
The gate is quiet by ten. Villas light up around their pools. If you want a late night, you drive into Pietermaai or Mambo and come home to a silent road.

Kokomo Beach
A small, social beach club bay just west of Blue Bay. Swing-seats in the shallows, sunset cocktails, and the kind of beach lunch you remember.
Piscadera Beaches
The two small bays between Blue Bay and Willemstad — Hilton Beach and the Marriott bay. Useful for a half-day change of scene without driving far.
Food & drinks
Casual on-site. The good stuff is a short drive.
Blue Bay isn't a restaurant district. It's a beach community with a handful of useful options on-site, and easy access to the best food on the south coast within fifteen minutes.

Karakter (Coral Estate)
Twenty minutes west, on a cliff. The sunset table on this side of the island. Reserve ahead.

Pietermaai (Willemstad)
Fifteen minutes east. Mundo Bizarro, Kome, BIJ Blauw — where you go when you want a proper city dinner.

Blue Bay Golf
The only 18-hole course on the island. Designed by Rocky Roquemore, ocean views from most holes, walkable in a morning.

Step in from the right-hand point of the beach. Coral wall, parrotfish, sea turtles in the mornings.

Scuba diving
The dive shop on the beach runs daily boats out to the south coast reefs. Easy for beginners, good for refreshers.

The thing most guests actually do. A lounger, a book, lunch on the sand, repeat.

Willemstad afternoons
Punda, Otrobanda and the floating market are a ten-minute drive. Half a day is enough for a first visit.
